1. It probably affects the probability of getting a drop but not the number. That is based on the rare drop code (and I would guess the skulls are classed as rare drops).
2. They can pick up red mushrooms, brown mushrooms, grass, dirt, sand, gravel, roses, flowers, TNT, cactus, clay, pumpkin, melon and mycelium.

Yes, the Wither will attempt to attack the dragon provided that there are no other targets nearby such as endermen or players, however, the wither probably won’t be able to kill the dragon if it can still regen health by end crystals.

Very interesting that it’s determined by material type. Thanks. But does that mean that ladders are not classified as wood type or just that the game code says NO?

One complaint: glass is actually a transparent block. There are several calculation wherein the game treats it differently than solid blocks like dirt or rock. I would be interested to see if the endermen can also teleport through those.

It has nothing to do with it being a “solid” block per se. If that were the case they would not teleport to a sign and immediately fall through it.
When they check the block to teleport to they look at the material type, if the material type is classed as a solid type then it can teleport there. In the case of signs, it is because the sign has the material type of wood, which is solid.

You are correct. As strange as it sounds they do not derive their material type from wood. Strangely they derive it from the same one as repeaters… but I have no clue why that is the case.
