Have you played with the portal guns?
Never shoot a portal on an object than can more.
I used a portal to get to an air ship and when I turned on the Zeppelin mod to fly the ship the end of the ship that had a portal was destroyed as well as everything between it and the ground plus a deep hole into the ground.

Hover mode will us energy even hen you don’t want it to. Like walking down a hill; you will “float down every step. Besides, you dont need it if you are a good pilot. :P

You can easly, just use 1 ladder at the highest bedrock, then use ender eyes to teleport through…
