Yes, each hopper can grab and put 3 items per second, but if you have a hopper facing sideways on another hopper, item get dragged out at the double speed because both the top hopper is putting items to the side and the lower hopper is grabbing from it’s inventory.
It’s basically 2 lines in one hopper this way.

Btw, very nice design!

All material transfer is limited to 3 items per second for each hopper. Adding more in line won’t help.

I’m going to be basing my storage room off this principle.

I think he meant with hoppers. As far as i know you can place a minecart on 4 hoppers if you do it right

Yeah, I got it now what he meant. :)

Where you have the side chests, could you potetntially set up 2 layers of inward hoppers so they both feed the minecart? The lower hopper does draw items from the one above even if it does not point towards it. You’d have to fill the upper hopper twice as fast by feeding it with 2 chests each, but there is plenty space to do that.

nice build dude might steal it!

double-click on them, it will take all items out of the chest or in it again.

No dang it second

This might work for emptying but how would that help filling.

Good speed there, I’m still thinking there may be methods of pulling out of a single chest though, and this is preferable as its easier to dump items into one chest (though of course automating this sort of thing could be done in any number of ways). Can hoppers not pull from other hoppers? With that in mind would it not be possible to place hoppers in such a way as to feed 3-5 hoppers into one cart?

I have made it work with 13 hoppers, and I only cannot do it with 14 because I can’t get the minecart back out again.
