Wow, I can’t believe how simple this idea is lol

From what I understood, Mojang will not remove the bud purposely, maybe on accident. Just like the Far Lands, they didn’t remove it on purpose, but they will not try to get it back, because there’s no point in getting a bug back.

again. we do not need a budblock. Look at the latest inventions and the way people figure out the most amazing stuff. look at all the compact 3×3 doors. look at the new 1×1 pixel display. look at the big massive door or “simple” stuff like the 2×2 bud trapdoor by cubehamster. a budblock does not allow the player to create these things. what we need is simply a thing that will cause a blockupdate to the blocks next to it if it receives a redstone signal just like fencegates etc. did

The thing is, it makes no sense to whine about something that isnt done yet. From what i understand they rewrote the redstone, which broke the buds, what if they fix it? We dont know what 1.5 will offer, we just know some of it, and it can change any day now when next snapshot comes out! There is no reason to whine about it! Sure, i can agree that a block bud wont be the same as a bud detector, but at the end of the day, we dont know how 1.5 will look like, so chill, let mojang work their magic

So…what happens when you go on a adventure and your last pickaxe beaks?

You be a real man and you punch the shit out of that stone with your blocky fist until it breaks.

I’m pretty sure they’ll leave it in if they can. With the redstone update I wouldn’t be surprised if it became an official item, like what they did with minecart boosters.

You make a new one.

the problem is, that like cubehamster said we do not need a bud block… we need chainable buds. for example take the redstonelamp bud. In the newest snapshot the thing is broken in a way that makes no sense. since a redstone update is nt giving a block update the bud powered light and the light powered by the light and the repeater takin the power out of the second light wont update ach other. also a budblock cannot give you the same options. for example the 22 bud trapdoor by cubehamster.

that is true, i can admit that, but there are ways to work around that.
Lets say that you could mask the budblock with a normal block, like take one stone+budblock, we would have a budblock in a stone, and when stone gets updated the bud will give away a output.
People see things so weird… “Bud is broken in the first snapshot, mojang ruin minecraft!!!!”
What if mojang fix it in the next snapshot? No one seems to think about that… last time there were snapshots they had 15 snapshots. not one

I built this as a gate to my secret base right after i saw it! On a survival server.
I dont understand why you guys are so fast to embrace the new mechanics when they arent done yet! What if Mojang listen to the community saying they need a bud-switch?
For me mojang is known for adding stuff people REALLY want!
What if they do as i said, adding a bud-switch block? Think of it, one 1×1 block that do the same thing as those 2×3 bud-switches?
It will be, nedless to say, AWESOME! So chill dude!

when the chunks are unloaded, wont the clock stop?
January 8th, 2013 at 8:13 AM
That pillar looked suspicious…
January 8th, 2013 at 8:14 AM
Haha I guessed the right block!
January 8th, 2013 at 8:19 AM
well they said in the 1.5 update there going to kill the bud switch think they said it at mincon as well dont quoit me on that
and a bout farland thats not a bug at all it has to do with the fact of minecraft is a 32bit game and it cant genorate past 320million or how ever far the farlands are they can remove the farlands “biome” but cant remove the effects of it

I hope that mojang DOESN’T fix it. I want bud switch (with a piston) out, and an actual bud block :)
I think something similar in design to the repeater and comparator would be cool, that put out a 4 tick pulse or something. This would allow for really compact melon farms and other things :)
If the y did it, it’d be cool if the block was placed like a piston (i.e had one side that it detected block updates from)

You can also use a furnace in place of the obsidian.

except the problem with a BUD “block” is that anyone would no exactly what it is and where. Most BUDs are meant to be hidden. For example, the other day I made a lamp Bud with a trap door on it, and when you click the trap door, it opens, then closes and then under you a cauldron shifts one block, then back into place, but if you stand in the cauldron, you fall through to a secret room. It is meant to be hidden, so a noticeable BUD block wouldn’t work

I like the way that the castle If a pilot had a gun, passengers could take the gun and do something like what happened at night

i was thinking about this year ago!
