This is really enjoyable. I am going to have to see if any of my friends have a copy of Doom or Doom II I can’t believe I have never played it.

There is actually a connection between Doom II and Minecraft. In the second hidden level of Doom II, there are 4 Commander Keens hanging. Commander Keen is another game from ID Software, from circa 1990. Mojang apparently loved Doom II (or at least Commander Keen), since they used the Standard Galactic Alphabet from Commander Keen game series as the alphabet for enchanting items on Enchantment Tables on Minecraft.
