Hunker Down prevents Criticals and other specialised shots (Disabling, Cover, Flush, etc.) but a regular shot can still hit (the Aliens seem to get an Aim-Penalty, though the higher the difficulty, the lower this penalty appears to be.)

They can miss, but only on the Easy and normal mode. Classic, and Impossible has decreased the chance of missing to below 5%, so essentially, they really need to have a very low chance, and must be very far away. But the alie AI is too clever to do that at this stage.

@aloysius260500 there is not “right” way to play it. That’s the point in games like this, your support to play it like you want to. So Paul is playing it safely.
