It usually takes around 140-160 Wither Skeletons to get 3 heads because the wither mob is a rare mob and the head is a rare drop :)

You need to drop the in-game volume, those pigmen groans are SUPER loud. Also bad luck on that sword/pickaxe :(

I believe Milk is effective against the “wither” effect as Milk can now cure all “potion” effects in addition to curing poison. I haven’t tried this myself yet; so please don’t quote me on this.
