TNT behaves differently depending on where the player is. I’ve noticed this with long range cannons when I set a delay and move down the projected path.

The difference can be very extreme, I’ve seen peak height differences of over 30 blocks. This discrepancy was shown to be consistent when I tested it.

You should look into that, if you aren’t already.

More TNT power and you will get more range and more height….normally about 2 barrel of TNT with good design cannon will shoot over range of the update chunk..
