In this video I show off a very interesting program I’ve recently discovered thanks to my friend GenerikB, which shows off your entire world(Even parts that haven’t been explored yet!) Not only is it great for seeing a full view of the type of map you’ll have but it also shows off npc villages, strong holds, nether fortresses, even the chunks slimes spawn in! Minecraft Snapshot – Ladders + Biome Updates

Minecraft Snapshot [12w01a] just came out with a few minor updates and bug fixes. Now that they’ve removed the collision effects from ladders, you don’t take fall damage on them, but you can no longer use ladders to prevent other items from falling (like minecarts). This caused my minecart elevator to break, so I’ll show a couple alternative ways to fix the issue.
