It can be mined for a diamond gem using an Iron or Diamond Pickaxe. Diamond ore can be obtained by the enchantment Silk Touch on a pickaxe. Therefore you can use the Diamond ore block to create traps or even decoration. Alternatively you can collect it to save for later to collect with a Fortune enchantment. But the trouble is it’s elusiveness. This Level 12 Mining technique greatly helps you find them. You also find many other useful minerals and enough cobblestone for 4 Castles! The best kind of mining for diamonds!
