My best guess as to why the button needs to reset the latch is so that it delays the clock. Because it’s only using one clock, it wouldn’t work to let the clock run for the exact amount of time it needs to switch signals. Instead, if the latch is already on, the clock’s signal is delayed, but the latch needs to be reset in order for it to do any good.

I’m not 100% on this to be honest, but that’s my best guess at why the button resetting the latch and the timing are so important.

@LevanEvan The problem I see with yours is that it takes a full clock cycle on every other button press. This does not.

@jakeycool8899 His is 4x4x4 which is 64 and mine is 2x5x4 which is 40 so mine is 28 blocks smaller i don’t think so

I can remember making t flip-flops when repeaters weren’t around. God, they were a pain to make, taking up spaces of about 7x3x10 or so….
