I think the largest demand I’ve ever had for 1 city was just shy of 500 MW… so 3,000 is a bit of overkill :P Do note that it only supplies power to the four cities connected directly to it by the highway, not the entire region.
Of course if you wanted to do some other great work, you could always research vertical axis turbines or concentrated solar arrays at the university to get more power for less space, but I’d still begrudge every wasted acre…

It’s the cheapest to do in terms of initial cost and resources, so it’s great practice. It also takes the least amount of effort to keep working: only 300 workers from the region. Finally, it provides an awesome benefit: free power to all connected cities, up to 3,000 MW total. Those wind farms/solar farms take up way too much room on these tiny plots, it’ll be nice to free up that area for building.
