The stairs work almost completely as shown, but i have one slight issue i dont understand. I made the entire system exactly as you showed it, and i gave it a final test. The last piston, at the very end, which uses the redstone torch from the right side as power, will not be pulled back by the piston when i active the stairs. Basically, the fake ground is perfect, but when i flip the switch to reveal the stairs, there is a piston stuck at the bottom of the staircase.

on the first steps i completely fail in the middle of the repeaters the redstone doesnt go to 2 repeaters it splits into 3

I made it exactly as you did, step by step, but the piston with the first stair never worked. Can anyone help? It’s part of a big project
