The fire spread has been weird since 1.6 or .7 before the official release. I was so annoyed by it too, because fire used to never spread if it was surrounded by stone (I came back to my house to find half of it burnt up), On that note, it would be nice if that could be changed to make a little more sense, but as of now @monkeyfarm fire can travel quite a distance upward and diagonally.

Oh I meant on the same pick. I don’t know if its now possible, with the enchantments in books, to put on the same pick but by potentially mining an ore block to multiply
