you can make it instant when extending, and only 1 tick delay when retracting by making the wire go directly into the piston, and then connect a repeater to that wire and then make that go into the piston as well.

Gotta love the bud glitch. Can make some cool shit out of it but 9 out of 10 times it messes up any design you are working on that don’t require a bud.

@roboticaust it’s not a glitch. Jens/Notch says it’s a ‘feature’. Lol. I just think they’re lazy to fix it.
