Good stuff, X. Although I can’t help but feel sticky pistons would be better, not very many people want sand or gravel floors, although sticky pistons are slightly more expensive.

Well, if so then I guess it’s grass, unless you spawn in a desert biome. (If that’s even still possible in 1.6. I really miss the old generator that Minecraft had in Beta 1.7.3)

yes but thats why he used sand because sand blocks fall with gravity. you could also use gravel as well.

The intent was to use a minimum number of resources. Sticky piston aren’t really much more expensive (it’s basically a trade of 1 slime + 1 other block to 1 sand block). However, slime is generally harder to obtain than sand unless you happen to spawn near a slime chunk or a swamp.

yes of course, but my comment was ment to be a joke, but xsisuma answered it. I like his design as it very compact and easy. Just regular piston few redstone dust, and sand.

Of course! :P You can use any block you want if you use sitcky pistons. Not obsidian though because pistons cant push that
