This is the unfortunate thing about mod packs. It is so easy to fall into
the trap of making the game be about the mods. Eventually you have just
done everything, but you never really get around to playing minecraft. If
you guys were to do it again, I would try to put together the pack in a way
that makes it all about vanilla but with a bit extra. The hermits seem to
really thrive on creative builds and massive structures. So, I can see how
just having a machine that does everything for you could kind of kill it
for you.

I feel the exactly the same as you Xisuma. I get burned out on mods pretty
quickly after playing with them. I feel as if people who don't get burnt
out on mods easily haven't really played vanilla enough and haven't
explored all of the possibilities which vanilla holds. They probably
haven't explored redstone or learnt many build styles. I feel comfortable
in vanilla because I know a lot about all the routes you can go down.

But there is then people like Sl1p and DMAC, who can play both without
getting burnt out too easily and can play a balanced amount of both vanilla
and mods. I envy those sort of guys :-p

Also I enjoy watching vanilla so much more, mainly because of how I have no
idea about all the wires and pipes and fingletrons and donglebons :-P

Yeah, I do understand. But hope you'll not wait too long before you try
again. Next time, try to not read the comments too much. What I liked about
your modded series was actually that you did try it your way. (and that you
failed) :D So funny to watch. And who cares if its optimal?

Everyone need a break, so only doing vanilla for a while is the right
approach. When you come back after a map reset you could target just a
limited number of mods, only bringing new mods if it can be justified.
