You should be able to drive a boat into an underground area of your base and have a boat elevator up into your base.

A large enough village spawns iron golems, which drop iron ingots on death. If you cram enough villagers into a small room, you can control where the iron golem spawns and put it into a mob grinder. It’s not very efficient but it works…
