As skeletons and zombies with a helmet won’t get burned under direct sunlight, you may filter mobs by throwing them helmets and exposing them under sunlight.

@Xisumavoid for the boss room I would use one zombie and Skeleton with protection 2 diamond leggings and chest plate. And a shrapness 4 sword.
