you could also let the pigs fall through a lava blade and add some fall damage after it, that should kill them and give you cooked items, but it will be al bit lowwer than the other side

For the cow one you could just put an extra block on top of the pistons, instead of having the fences you could place a regular block and a block above it which will not be pulled obviously and if I’m not mistaken no mobs will glitch and they couldn’t climb a 2 block high wall.
