Use the electrical engine to convert the power you use for the machines you already got (industrialcraft, uses “EU”) with the copper/gold/fibre cable feeding from e.g. solar panels into the back (the bigger part). You have to apply a redstone signal to it to work. You can place your machines directly in the fron or you can use golden conductive pipe.

To power Forestry you need lava and water, make a squeezer, run it on water and put seeds in an adjacent BioGas engine to make seed oil, use the seed oil to power the BioGas engines from this point forward (Lava will always be needed but is used less when using seed oil)

You could use soulshard to harvest 200 souls from spawner to get tier 1. And then you can create your own spawner. I suggest watching DW20 mod spotlight

Wooden ties are used for tracks, rail craft is over complicated , but fun!!!
