There is actually a closer stronghold that Zistau made a shortcut through the nether to, its hidden behind netherrack in one of the unused doors in the netherhub. If he use that one it’s actually a very short trip :)

You would have more luck joining a random server. Firstly, you should ask guude, who created the server. Secondly, guude doesn’t let random people on the server. Thirdly, do you think mindcrack would be fun if hundreds of random people logged on and started griefing and stuff. I don’t want to sound like an a-hole, but this is the truth.
