Something that I think would be a cool addition is to maybe add some
Indians that shoot arrows at people that go by around the Indian
reservation or by the tents (I know it’s kinda stereotypical but it’s just
an idea)

There are 2 ways you could make the obstacle harder…

1. Move the paths farther apart from each other

2. Make a divider/wall in between them sooner in the track

Why?: these will both force the racer to make a decision on a path sooner
and will also force them to keep their decision if they get the wrong
timing.

A great example of this in in Mario kart 8 in bowsers castle where the road
splits and a bowser statue alternately punches each path… They force you
to choose a path way before the obstacle to make the timing harder to
judge.
