That black smoke from the Dimensional Door is very, very bad! It will
slowly eat away blocks from your world if you do not get rid of it with a
Rift Remover.

The way the portals work from my experiences is that when an entity
(Player, Block, Animal/Mob, Etc.) It turns into that black dust still being
the dimension. You have to put a dimensional door there to make it working
again and also have it NOT break on entry… hopefully this helped you and
stuff :P
