The nether is smaller than the real world every 1 block there is 6 blocks
in the real world. You r spawning in the border

Paul went in creative and then checked out the spawner? Seems a little
dodgy to act suprised when you ran RIGHT TO THE EXACT PLACE where the chest
was.

you’re probably traveling outside the border? b/c of the nether fast travel
stuff? The portal is riiight next to the world border.
