makes me facepalm at that double monostable circuit I punished myself with.

What I did to fix this was to add extra repeaters into the green circuit. After a total of 6 repeaters at 4 ticks the waterfall works like its advertised in the videos. Hope it helps you guys. (pic at imgur w1WlH.jpg)
